Call me strange but......

    I've fired the WW2 GI Remington Rand, and I prefer the old school sights to any of the "newer" combat sights etc.

    You must have younger eyes than me.

    Those original combat sights are made for close up shooting. If you can't use your rifle for some reason, that 1911 is next in line before your bayonet or fighting knife or you pick up another rifle.

    You may be a natural point shooter and that's a good thing since bad guys seldom stand still or allow you to place a target on their chest.

    If you can see them, the narrow blade front sight can be very precise. I don't mind shooting with GI sights at all.
