Hey everyone I just have a few questions I always wanted to know. I keep coming up with something new to think of or just something I want to do. I don't know much about guns that's why I'm here so I could get a better understanding of it. I own a mini 30, and a 12 gauge shotgun. I will be building an AK-47, and I am trying to see what I need in order to build handguns since I am not old enough to buy one but if I build it I can have it. And it's not against the law just as long as I don't sell them. But why would I want to sell a handgun I put so much hard work into. Well anyway hopefully some good people on here could help me out and I hope to learn a few things.

All AK variants are banned by name in California. If you can find a supplier to send you parts, you'll be breaking state law by assembling them into a rifle. Look else where for your rifle needs if you're interested in staying out of prison.

Here is a link to the California Department of Justice's page that has the 2006 gun law update. Please learn it and abide by it. If you don't, you become a criminal and risk the 2nd Amendment rights of other Californians. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/2005bills.php

You may also want to check into the laws regarding you possessing a handgun while you're at it. If you are under 21 (I'm pretty sure about that.), and are in possession of a handgun in pretty much any situation other than hunting with it, then you are breaking the law.

AK "Variants"

I'm not sure what you mean by "variants". I bought a Saiga 308 in CA recently which is, essentially, an AK chambered in 308. Add a pistol grip and its pure AK. I have NOT added a pistol grip, since that would require the addition of a "bullet button" here in CA and I'd rather keep the original "removable magazine" configuration.
