I have decided to build an AR from the ground up. Mainly to educate myself and also so I can make it exactly how I want it. I'm going to get the stripped lower from a local gunshop but I was wondering what website has the best deals on all other parts for building an AR-15?

Pretty much any advice regarding best quality parts is what Im looking into at this point. Trigger kits, stripped uppers, barrels, gas systems, etc.

Any advice or education is greatly appreciated.

To save yourself the agony of reading through pages of responses and the invariable bickering over who is good, better, best might I suggest scanning the various stickies and threads on the forum. Many of the folks that will respond here have taken the time to detail their opinions in the threads in the AR section. Once you get a better feel for what you want it will be easier to help with the details. Just a thought...

Go into the forums menu...not the current thread. Drill down through long guns, semi auto to AR 15 forum. Top of screen there will be a tab for threads and stickies. Doing it now on iPad, lot more complicated than the PC version.

Actually just found the "jump to AR discussion" at top of page...will save having to drill down thru menu.
