Hi guys,
I need to buy a new pistol. After my Taurus blew up and knowing I have to wait awhile. I have been shooting a 22 pistol, I want a more powerfull gun. I don't want to make the same mistake. Here are my choices.
Browning 9mil.
Ruger 9 mil or NEW Ruger SR9 ?
Glock 17-19 ?
Thank you

What do you intend to use the pistol for? Is it for carry or just target shooting?
Do you intend to reload for it too? I'm also curious to know what model Taurus you "Blew Up" and what exactly happened.

I bought a new Taurus 357 Mag. --7 shot--# 66SS on Jan.-08. I used it about 4 times when the 5 time I open a new box of 357 Rem. 124 gr. [not reloads]The first shot it went --BANG-- Barrow was clear -I found the bullet that when off and you can see that the firing pin hit it dead center. I have pictures--file is to big. Send me your e-mail. Here is mine so you don't have to show yours. [email protected]
When I get a new gun from taurus- I will have it up for sale the next day.

WOW !!!!
That's some scary ****!
Hopefully you were not hurt by the schrapnel.
I've seen a few other blown up guns but this is about as bad as it gets.
Any idea what happened? Plugged barrel? Cylinder out-of-time when it fired?
Is Taurus going to replace it under warranty?
I can understand why you're not too keen on Taurus products right now.
You may want to post the story and pics of this "KB" (gunspeak for Kaboom) in the revolver section, I'm sure other forum members would want to see this.

Are those self imposed only choices? Lots of folks like 9 mm's, and they are "okay" for combat, but I've seen too many failures with them. The best advise I can give is to choose a gun, the caliber of which begins with the number 4.

You know why 9mm's have such high capacity?
Because they need that many to do the job.
