    Inquiring mini owners want to know, will 1/2 fiber/resin mix that is popular in most gov buildings able to stand a shot from a mini 6.8 Barnes TTSX 110 gr bullet! The fiber material is 1/2 thick 6x6 in square. Stay tuned for some weekend fun!!!

    My guess is that it will not stand up to the test. It sounds too rigid, you would need to layer it with maybe spandex in-between each layer. I would think maybe 3 layers with 5 layers of silk or 3 layers of spandex between each layer of fiber board that might work.

    don't forget the tannerite, tri! :D

    i still haven't shot any of that stuff...hard to believe they sell it at academy now.

    are you gonna post pics of your barrier penetration attempts? :D will you try it with the 5.56? i always heard the 5.56 is more powerful from a mini than an AR....;)

    "the results of shooting random stuff with a mini shooting challenge"...hmmmm...may have to re-phrase that, but it has potential, tri! :D

    here's a little melon i popped at the range once. why not?

    I have 4 pcs to play with, I'll try a Barnes MPG 55 gr with my mini 14 also. More pics and video to follow!

    I may see how it stands up to 1/2 of tannerite too!:D

    This was a fun test, 1 panel 1/2" thick will stop the follow;

    22 LR
    40 S&W 155 gr ball ammo
    44 Mag 5/6 shots 240 gr HP
    45 ACP 200 gr HP
    12 GA tactical slug
    12 GA Hunting slug
    All shot from 10 ft away

    Also stopped a 55 gr Combined Tech in 223

    1 panel 1/2" will not stop the following;

    223 Barnes 55 gr MPG
    6.8 SPC 110 gr Vmax
    6.8 SPC 110 gr Barnes TTSX
    243 87 gr Vmax

    So onto 1" panels that will stop the following;

    223 55 gr MPG
    243 87 gr Vmax
    6.8 110 gr Vmax
    6.8 110 gr TTSX
    308 168 gr Noslet BT

    All shot at 45 yds away, feel free to veiw my YouTube channel for results of this day many other mini 14 test.
    The only thing that penatrated the 1" panels was the 223 SS109 with a steel core.

    Curious Tri, was the 1 inch piece a solid piece or two 1/2 inch pieces stuck together? I'm wondering if like woven armor the first half inch would be penetrated and the second would stop it.

    How expensive is that stuff? And where do you get it? I could see putting that stuff on the back of a headboard to a child's bed. You know, to stop a bullet from hitting them in their sleep in the event of a home invasion.

    This was 2 pcs of 1/2" material taped together. It stopped the standard rifle rounds except the steel core 223 SS109.

    I don't know the cost of this stuff, on another board several of us received some panels for testing against our armory. Here is the link of the manufacture.
