Is there differences between certain kits? If so what are they? Is there a certain kit you prefer? My local shop is in the process of ordering mine. Not sure if I should upgrade the buffer or what?

As long as you order from a reputable manufacturer, you should be fine. Are you doing a rifle or carbine build?

Long range rifle. I know I need the a2 buffer kit(I'm pretty sure) but wasn't sure if I should go with ati or some of the others I've seen.

Well I've heard mixed reviews on Ati in general, I haven't heard anything about their buffer kit.

Yeah same here I have read some bad reviews on the kit that they ( ati ) sale its the one that's in the $50 range and I think they have one in the $70 range that looks the same so wanted to stay way from them

Be careful, as a carbine buffer(h3) is not a direct drop in for a rifle length tube. You would have to put a spacer in the tube and use a carbine spring.

I too have heard mixed things about ATI, thats why I wasn't sure. To be quite honest, idk what brand my guy is even ordering. He sure is taking his sweet *** time though. It's been almost a month since he was supposedly ordering it. Hmm we shall see I guess.

Okay, sounds good. There's just so many options out there, it's hard to know if you're getting the right thing.

Good firearm to pick for your first. This is my first AR, a few friends of mine have built a few, but nothing like how I want to do mine.
