I got a picture of this buck with unusual coloration on my game camera. I have gotten several pictures of him.

I know that there is a herd of white deer living on/near an army base that are protected. Where was this taken?

There is a herd of white deer on the Argonne National Laboratory South of Chicago.

Deer coloration can vary quite a bit. From white to dark chocolate brown (almost black). Depends on the genetics and the food.

    What he said.

The eyes will tell for sure on if it's albino. By the black on the back of the tail though, I would assume not.

Best way to find out for sure is to shoot it though.

Where do you live, cause that looks like a Coastal Black Tail?

North Alabama. I am not familiar with Coastal Black Tails or their range. This deer is about fifteen miles south of the Tennessee state line. I assume it is just a whitetail with different coloration than most I see here. I have gotten pictures of some does with about the same body color but not the white neck.

Most of the deer around here seem to trend more toward a redish brown color.

One thing I didn't mention, he has had an injury right by his left front leg. It has mostly healed. I wonder if maybe the other bucks might have tried to run him off because of his different coloration?

I have seen many white and/or partial white deer in my lifetime. Also piebald deer.

I agree with that. However I probably won't shoot him this season even if he gives me a shot. He is only a four point and I don't want to shoot any bucks less than six point. But there are a couple of bucks with funky antlers that I think I should take out of the gene pool. One is a five point, four and one. He would have a nice rack if the right antler matched the left one.
