I'm waiting on my brand spankin new Browning T-bolt target/varmint 22mag spittin piece of beauty :)
If it will shoot a 22mag can I assume it will also shoot 22 long rifle?

The answer is no. If you bought a 22 Magnum Rimfire rifle it will only shoot 22WMR ammo. It will not take 22lr,nor should you ever try to shoot any out of it.
