Which one feels better to you when you hold it?

personal I would buy a weatherby vanguard II, same barreled action as the howa. Or better yet a Tikka T-3 and be done with it. Never liked these werd stocks companies come up with as a selling gimmick . I also want to be able to shoot with the off hand if conditions only allow it. For a 308 make it a more simple clean lighter rifle as the cartridge does have limits as a hunting round. a 270 or 7mm rm can then take advantage of a long barrel.

I dont have the chance to hold either. Im leaning toward the browning mainly because the stainless steel and bolt in it.

I would deffinately recomend a Tikka. I have the T3 lite stainless and love it. Great rifle in all aspects.

Get the howa, I rather have a .270 anyway and howa's are such well built rifles
