Hi, I've got a (1990) BLR in 30-06 with a straight grip stock that I'd like to convert to a pistol grip as well as putting a new forend on without the strap ring at the end of it.

Is the lower tang the same for both stocks?

It's pretty obvious that the lever is different, but is there anything else going on there that I need to be aware of??

is this do-able or am I really getting into a mess (where I should just sell and get another)?

    thanks

    Giant economy size can.

Tang follows curve of stock on the lightweight IIRC. If you can FIND a lever, its about $100 for that one part.

My advice? Step AWAY from the can opener.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what a lightweight IIRC is. Does the lower tang have different shapes for different models? I've got a new lever for $50 if all else falls into place
    thanks

IIRC, that's what we oltimers put in when we don't want to be quoted.
