I was looking to buy a used Browning Buckmark 22, only the front sight came off as I was test firing it. The screw that holds the sight on broke and part is still in the hole.
Can a gunsmith extract this broken screw and remount the sight. Are there any other sight options? Any I idea on costs to repair?

    Thanks for any help.

A good gunsmith should be able to use an easy-out type tool and remove the broken screw\bolt. He can then redress the threads and re-install the sight. This is something unless you are very mechanical I would leave to a professional

A competent DIYer should be able to handle all but the reinstall. All it would really take is a drill press and vice, and the appropriate drill bit and tap.

Sounds like a good candidate for a red dot or reflex type sight though.

You use your front sight? Maybe I should start doing this..... If it is way down in there then I would have a smith do it. But if it were clost to the top I would do it myself. It is not that hard. worse comes to worse you drill it and tap it bigger and call it a day.

You don't use your front sight?

How in the world do you hold elevation?
