I ordered a Boyd's Tactical stock for my Savage 10 FCP 308 since I stole the stock off it when I built my 6.5 Creedmoor. I bought a Blue/Grey/Black colored stock, just for something different. It looks really good, and the fit & finish is excellent.
The only gripe I have with Boyd's is they don't offer this stock with a barrel channel for a heavy/varmint barrel, which doesn't make any sense, since a "Tactical" style rifle has a heavy barrel 99.9% of the time.
No problem,I have a bunch of experience opening up barrel channels on stocks!

Here's the stock right out of the box -

This is the way it looks before opening up the barrel channel for the bigger barrel.

The only tools you will need is some 120 grit sandpaper, and anything that is around 1" in diameter to use as a sanding block. I use the handle off my Action wrench, and a piece of 3/4" pvc pipe.

Sand a little at a time, and make sure you are sanding everything straight.

This is what it looks like when I finished sanding out the channel.

Set the action/barrel back in several times while your sanding, and when you get it done right, you should have a free floated barrel all the way to the barrel nut,or recoil lug, depending on the brand of rifle your using.

You will also need to reseal the area that you sanded after you finish the barrel channel. I use a couple coats of Tung oil,and just use painters tape on any part of the stock that is already finished,to keep it safe.

The inletting on the stock is excellent, and every Boyd's stock that I've ever used has been the same way.
The bottom metal fit perfectly -

I installed the Weaver Super Slam 3-15x50 scope, with a set of Burris Signature Zee rings on the Ken Farrell 20 moa 1 piece base, and then bore sighted the scope.
After I get to shoot it,I'll decide if I need to bed the action into the stock, but I have never had to bed a Boyd's stock yet.

I know, but they don't make this particular model in LH so I just have to deal with it.
I do shoot just as good right handed,so that's really not a problem!

JJ,I thought about getting the green camo color, but decided to just go with this color.
