I had this sitting around for a long time and got around to finishing it. The last one I made, some folks said it wasn't big enough to be a Bowie. so I started making this one. I kept the look I was going for just made it bigger. So this is my interpretation of a Bowie.

Man thats a beautiful peice of art. Very good job at that bowie knife. And who cares if its not big enough, you made it.
Was that made from an old wood rasp? The lines are very clean and did you have to anneal before grinding the edge? That is very nice work, the red spacers are very plesing to the eye.

Good eye!

I was wondering why the two sides were diff. in design.

Nice work too, that's something that is sure to become a treasured heirloom!
Beautiful work! I've never been much for large knives, but that's gorgeous and looks useful as well.
Dammit! Now I've got drool all over my keyboard.
Almost too pretty to carry,,,,,almost.
Thanks for the props. Yes it was annealed then re-heat treated. Like all my knives, the shape is what I think a knife should be. It's definitely a large knife but it has the style and shape I like to carry into the field. I guess that appeals to some others as well.
And now it has a new home, safe and sound with the rest of my DT Knives!

Thanks, Dan!!
