    Sooooo excited!!!!!

After renting a bunch of different guns finally settled on the S&W M&P 9mm compact. Felt good in my hand and shot well with the rental, also felt the size was a good middle ground between something I could carry and was still fun to shoot.

Only gun that I shot that I liked better was the S&W 1911, but it was out of my price range (wanted to stay in the $500 range), but am planning on saving for that to be my next purchase.

AWESOME!!! That's a fine weapon you have there my friend. Take care of it and it will take care of you. I bought a Kimber 1911 a few months ago and I'm warming up to it, they have that effect.

    What type of carry?

For IWB, check out crossbreed holsters.

    NICE!! :D
M&P's are great pistols, reliable, accurate, easy maintenance.
I know first hand, I own a M&P .40c and carry it daily.
Your 9c has a thumb safety, I beginning to see that more on the M&P's.
Mine is an older model; no safety at all.

    Congrats on your purchase!
I'm a big fan of the S&W M&P, I carry a 45 M&P 90% of the time and have done so for more than three years. I use to have a M&P 9mm C but my daughter liked it better than the G27 she had. Took awhile to find a buyer for the G27 and ended up selling it for much less than I paid for it all the same my daugher truly enjoys her M&P.

I expect you will discover this firearm will serve you well, practice often and enjoy your firearm. As for holsters, check out Don Hume, Galico and Highnoon. I like my Don hume but it's a ISWB, my daugher has a nice Galico and last year my kids got me a sweet highnoon custom soulder rig. Always found leather holster to fit/carry better that nylon or plastic holsters. That might be a personal choice.
