Paddles are junk. If you're going to be carrying often of for any length of time, look for some quality leather.
 Fobus! What, are you kidding? Nothing is harder on a gun's finish than Fobus. So, you plan on wearing this thing all day long; do you? Then you need, Kramer

(Checkout the #3 IWB.)

I have two Fobus, one for my Brno CZ75B and the other for a Glock 17, there are OK walk around, as long as you don't do anything to energetic, a number of the police officers I work with use Blackhawk when we train and I think they are far better of the two.................
BlackHawk or Foebus

Hello all/Responce to Boris

Ron L here = SERESURPLUS

I've not had as much exposure to Blackhawk, I do own and do like the Foebus, I'm not a Fan of the "Paddle" I do have a few that are conventional slotted for the belt and Not any of the ROTO paddle jobs! These holsters are great and hard on finish, perhaps, but then, I have a Dull Chrome on most of my Carry Auto's so that's not an issue?
i have a blackhawk serpa holster and have had no problems. they make good stuff. however, if you do plan on wearing your gun all day, i would suggest getting a quality leather holster. i use my serpa for going to and from training events. if i'm in plain clothes for any length of time i use a galco or desantis belt slide holster. i would staying away from fobus. in my opinion they are cheaply made, but i'm not an expert. also, unless you are in a situation where you have to continually remove your gun holster i would stay away from paddles.
Got to agree with colt - I have three SERPA holsters and they are all well made. The Blackhawk stuff is a little more expensive than some other stuff out there, but I have never bought a Blackhawk product that wasn't well made and designed to fit the bill.

Day to day carry with a paddle is for the cops who download their gear each night before hugging the kiddies. I too would stay away from it unless you see yourself strapping on and strapping off frequently.

I have several Galco leather rigs and they are all well made and have stood the test of time. They too cost a little more, but what is the finish on your weapon, and your own comfort worth?

I have never owned a fobus, so I can't comment on them.

I have a Galco paddle holster for the SP101 and I really like it. However I only every carry a paddle when I am training with the dogs, and it's handy to just pull the pistol and holster out of the waistband and stow it away when not carrying. I have no need to carry continually generally so they fit the bill. I bought two Fobus paddle holsters for the Glock and the Brno before Blackhawk was available, so I kind of got stuck with them. The Blackhawk is a far better holster, I wouldn't like to do anything too energetic with the Fobus, and certainly would feel uncomfortable in a crowd. They do not retain the weapon as well as a Blackhawk.

I would say you have to be careful not all paddle holsters are winners. I mean you don't need to be in the position of having to draw your gun to defend yourself and end you pointing a holster at your assailant! On the odd occasion I have to wear a gun, which is very infrequently these days I use Horseshoe Leather holsters strong side.........:)

Personally I've never had good luck using any paddle holster over an extended period of time. In my experience, sooner or later, that paddle holster is going to draw with the gun. (And, oh boy, are you going to look stupid!)

However, other shooters keep telling me that Blackhawk paddle holsters work very well. Now, I don't own one and, consequently, really don't know; but, this is what other shooters keep telling me.

Me? I usually wear an IWB leather holster for daily CCW carry; and, for range work, my holster-of-choice is an OTB Blade-Tech Kydex holster with a quick on/off, 'Tek-Lok' clasp. It's comfortable enough to, sometimes, wear for up to 12 or 14 hours at a stretch; and it's, also, a very FAST holster that NEVER draws with the pistol. ;)

Avoid the Serpas if you are going to use a GLOCK!

There have been numerous reports of these holsters causing the trigger to be pulled. I know one person who shot himself in the leg with a SimGun while using a Serpa.

Supposedly, they have rectified the problem in the 3rd remake...

Really? That would be reason enough for me not to carry a Glock. :D

i heard there was a recall on the duty rig version of the serpa. if you check blackhawk's website there is more info.

The ADs were from all forms of Serpa's for the GLOCK.
i have a full size glock and have never carried a gun before. i will most likely be wearing it for long periods of time. i dont where belts that often so thats why i was looking at paddle holsters. when it comes to leather its hard to find a good one that fits my glock g20. can any one help me find a good leather holster for my gun money isnt realy a problem?

Google 'High Noon Holsters,' they sell belts and holsters. If you're carrying a piece, especially a full sized, you need a belt. Even paddles are designed to wear with belts.
