A bird flew down at Friday 5:20 am about 75 yards out and started to leave. I started making some soft purrs, but would not come in close enough. The big dude in the picture came through the fence and immediately started strutting towards my decoy. I had only heard one bird gobble and only three times before fly down. I think I got the boss bird. :D

44 steps with 3.5 inch Federal Mag Shok #4.

11.75 inch beard, one spur 1 1/16 inches, second spur broken tip 7/8 inch. Weight = well north of 20 lbs.

My partner bagged nice 20# bird with a 9 inch beard and 0.75 inch spurs this morning to help make his ride back to LA much more pleasant. His first long beard and I called it in for him. :)

GOOD JOB Gator....trying for #2 in central MO. Tomorrow is make or break. Hoping for the BOSS TOM but will take anything including a chick, if it has a beard.

P.S. Thanks for showing me up Gator, bigger beard and hooks. Yeah, rub it in.

We still have 2 of the 6 five day seasons left in WI. Gobblers are finally starting to show some interest in calls and decoys and the weather is improving. It gets daylight by 5:15 m.o.l. so I can hunt a couple of hours before work. Maybe I'll have another picture to share.

Excellent! No bear will feed on that bird.
