Under fifty yard a 2X7 or a 3X9 should be adequate. I have a 2X7 on my Encore .308 pistol and it works quite nicely. Also, IMHO you do not have to get to elaborate or pricey for under fifty yards. Just have fun and good luck, Joe

I'm sure you can do better than that if you only try a little harder.

If you want to go red dot then you could get an EO Tech 550.

I found that the Charger is real accurate out to 100 yards. With that being said, I'd stay with something with cross hairs and shy clear of a red dot unless you plan on using it for kicking down doors and tactical entry.

This is only my opinion and probably doesn't reflect the opinion of this forum or of it's members.

I have shot a few with 1moa dot red dot sights and they were turning in respectable 100 yard groups.

The problem with these old eyes, I can't even see the target at a 100 yards without the aid of some decent optics.

I like the little TruGlo red dots with 2x magnification. They are cheap and durable. Nieces and nephews are rough on equipment.

I like that a red dot that will not brake the bank and that is a x2.

I dont want to spend 200+ I all so know you get what you pay for.

I've beaten on four of those TruGlos for the past couple of years with no issues. They do eat batteries faster than I had expected. Luckily batteries are cheap.

I put a Vortex Stikefire with a 2X magnifier on my Granddaughter's 6.8 and I truly believe that although, the Voxtex is adequate for whitetail hunting the 2X magnifier is worthless. At 50 yards she can string a 5 shot group into a 5 inch target without the use of the magnifier. Using the magnifier is more challenging and restricts the sight picture IMHO.

A red dot can be an effective hunting tool for large game at longer yardages without the use of any magnification.

That was the point with my original post, no need to go overboard on the optics for the Charger.

The Vortex can be had for a little over $100.00 and TruGlo make optics for well under $100.00.

There are many fine scopes made in the $50.00 to $200.00 range. Put the right shooter behind one and a fistful of 22LRs and that equals good times at the range. The Ruger will do the rest.

Now you didn't say you had a budget you just said whats the best scope for a charger at 50 yards.

What do you expect us to do read your mind?

The best scope is the one that fits your budget and does what you need it to do. You are not going to get the best scope on the market for $200 not even $1500.

The BEST of anything is really subjective to a point of why even ask the questions.

    If you would have said

What is the best scope for a ruger charger that will shot at 50 yards and below in the up to $200 catagory then you would have gotten a much better answer like.

I am going to then point you towards the Weaver 2.5-8x28mm pistol scope.

Might also want to take a look at the Bushnell Trophy XLT pistol scopes as well.

If you can spend $300 then go with the Nikon Encore 2.5-8x28mm scope with the BDC.

You were vague and left it wide open. Then you get upset about it.

Be specific and help comes easier and faster.
