My dad is considering making the jump from revolver to semi auto but he is left handed and an awful lot of the smaller more concealable semiauto pistols on the market right now are intended for right handed shooters.i would be grateful for any advice from all you. Lefthanded shooters out there thanks

I shoot lefty. Haven't had any probs, but only autos I carry are 1911 type pistols.

Some smaller guns are reversible such as the Beretta Nano for example. Just do some research, I think you'll be surprised how many of the newer models can be reversed.

Kahr makes guns without a safety. They simply have a long smooth trigger pull. I carry one. I am a lefty. I also own a Bersa Ultra Concealed Pro in 45 acp. It is completely ambidextrous. My Ruger P95 is also Ambi as is my 1911.

I am a left handed shooter as well. Every pistol I have can be operated with my left hand, in some instances my finger instead of my thumb for slide release and safety. My Walther P99 has an ambi mag release. I now carry the S&W Bodyguard .380....nothing hinders my left hand operation.

I'm lefty and have no issues shooting anything. I've got two (one full-size and one sub-compact) with decockers and mag release on the left side and have no issue manipulating them with my left fingers or thumb without taking the barrel off the target and no real loss of speed. Just takes some practice. We're lefties - we adapt.

As a lefty I know deciding on a gun is tough. I have a walther pps which is awesome and also have a shield which is a nice shooter. I haven't had any issues with the shields safety, but I carry the pps more. I am in the market for a .380 and I am waiting on the new Beretta Pico.

S&W M&P series is a good choice for south paws.
