When it comes to beer, all beer, I'm reminded of an old, old HBO comedy show.

"It tastes like warm cow pee strained through a dirty sweatsock."

    Road Trip!!!!

I believe that this should be tested and judged by an independent panel made up of FTF SM's.

I'll volunteer my time to help. Its a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I know... your thinking, "What a hero Dan is!!! He's so brave!"

Oh, and I'll second Harpoon as being a very good beer. Its right up there with Samuel Adams.

I'd like to come, but I'm pissed that some brewery in Houston that I've never heard of bested by beloved Shiner Bock.

Nice post. In times like these good beer maybe the real answer. Some years ago in an Irish Pub near the Shannon airport. My wife ordered a light beer. Gees that set the those Irish beer drinkers into a spin. She never did that again on the old sod.:)

I will have to refute Great Lakes as the best beer in Ohio. They used to be, but since they got bought out by a major brewer, they have lost it. Still likes me some Dortmunder Gold or some Elliot Ness, but I like Rock Bottom Brewery better.

If it doesn't mix well, I don't drink it. It did have an unfortunate side effect in college. If I played quarters, I was always the first one out.

Dogfish Head, Flying Dog, New Belgium, and Boulevard (from my new home state of MO) are all fantastic breweries.

Not sure I agree with Florida. Landshark is a Corona. Without lime it is weak. I like Ybor Gold, or an Orlando micro brew that I cannot come up with right now. too many games without a helmet, followed by too many post game beers!

God created a drink with lime in it and called it a Margarita. ;)

If you gotta fruit the beer, then it is not beer. Just my humble opinion.

Home brewers who take their hobby seriously will have much better brew anyway. Get to know one.

    I've had:

    Alaskan Brewing Co
    Willimantic Brewing Co. (home state!)
Dogfish Head (watch "Beer Wars" on netflix, great documentary)
    Land Shark
    Abita
    Flying Dog
    Harpoon
Big Sky Brewing Co. (love "moose drool")

i guess i need to visit a few more states.

When I heard that Blue Moon is supposed to have a slice of orange, I thought nothing could get much gheyer.

I think it was maybe Tecate or another Mexican beer that started the lime thing. Such a travesty. If I'm out and order a Corona and the bartender sticks a lime in it without asking, I'll demand another beer.

I'm the same way when it's assumed I want my Dos Equis with lime.:mad:

As to the topic at hand, I've had Alaskan IPA once, and liked it; Choc is always a good brew (and has a great backstory); Flying Dog is good, as is Boulevard and Shiner Bock. Those last four basically form a rotation in my fridge, along with Dos Equis Amber, Negro Modelo, and St Pauli Girl Dark.

I wouldn't give a plugged nickle for Blue Moon.

Utah lists Squatters (sounds like a girl beer), brewed by the Wasatch Brewery that also brews a Polygamy Porter lol.
I prefer a Golden Spike hefeweizen from the Uinta Brewery!
