Does anybody have any pros or cons on the bersa thunder .40 cal or the Springfield xd sub c .40 cal?
Bersa is a very well made low cost gun.
I have, and carry, the .40 XD Subcompact and love it. It fits my hand well, shoots accurate, eats any ammo I feed it and has never once had a FTF, FTE or jam. I have close to 15,000 rounds through it.
If your wallet lets you afford the XD it is, in my opinion, a better gun. If you're looking to spend less maney the Bersa is a good gun as well. Best thing you can do is find a range that rents guns. Both the Bersa and XD are popular guns and will probably be available for rent. Shoot them both side by side and determine which one you shoot best. That is the better of the two guns for you.
Thanks! I have the smith and Wesson .40 and I love it other than the trigger pull. I'm also a small guy and it's hard to conceal. So I'm looking for something smaller and found these and now I'm stuck.
The Bersa .40 was my first pistol. Break-in consisted of clean, lube & load.
I was a novice on semi autos & didn't know you were supposed to break them in! Shot a couple mag loads through it to check it out & then 50 rounds for qualification for my CHL without a problem.
I don't know anything about the Springfield or how they'd compare. The Bersa has a bit of a snappy recoil, but not a problem even with my weak wrists & limited grip.
Both are good guns, some difference in price. The XD is probably going to be easier to find accessories for.
You're right about the accessories. Not hardly any for the Bersa, 'course I like my guns black anyway. There's a guy in Honduras, I think, that makes after market grips for it & that's about it. The later models will accept Sig sights.
