great pistols. hugely under-rated because some think they are inferior because of the price. biggest detractor i can find for them is the stiff recoil spring that makes it difficult for someone with limited hand strength to operate the slide and the price of 380 ammo for them, even practice ammo.

For the price, they seem to be decent handguns.

They will take more range time than the Kel-Tec P3AT.

If you hold out a walther ppk and a bersa thunder 380 I would take the bersa. Better trigger more reliable bit better accuracy.

Although not az pretty as a ppk it beats the ppk in every category that counts.

As a defensive gun its too big the lcp is the hands down pocket 380 winner.

Traded a winchester black shadow, retailed for $350 and had about 500 rounds through it, I think it's a good deal, never had a .380 before and the ammo, wtf, 4 places yesterday, no one had .380, crazy

380acp has never been plentiful nor a plinking round. Its a last resort I can't carry anything else because its too big gun.

We got this newfangled thing called the internet. Go to www.ammoseek.com and use it like google for the ammo you are searching for. It even sorts the ammo by the best price. Fiocchi shoots well and it is hot ammo. A fellow that runs an FFL in his garage has it for $18.50. You should be able to find a better price. The only thing he orders in high volume is 22LR.

Enjoy shooting today. I ran about 200 rounds through it, accuracy is amazing. I noticed though that on occassion, it would not return into battery and had to manually pull back on slide for it to go into battery. I narrowed it down to a stainless magazine that I bought second for the gun, the original was blued. I will run another couple hundred through it to see if the problem continues. Thanks for website John Deere, i figure if ammoman doesn't have it, i don't need it.

+1 on the Bersa! I bought my Duotone about 5 years ago for $249.00. I also picked up a Stainless slide for $50.00 and another blued mag, I think cost me less than $20.. Crazy accurate pistol, never had a malfunction with mine. The only "dislike" is gear related. At the time, Eagle industries, the importer/distibutor, were only selling Houston holsters for the .380. Picked one up..needed two hands to remove the firearm from the holster. I see that they're now are offering Fobus holsters. Still a fine product and a reliable weapon.

My Bersa .380 had a complete and un-movable slide lock-up while firing about it's 300th round or so. It locked rearward at about a 1/4in out of battery, and I felt it shudder upon that firing using factory ammo. Had my dealer send it back to Bersa and got it back about 3 weeks later. Just dropped some rounds through it about a week ago with 2 FTE's. I don't feel safe relying on this pistol anymore. Maybe I got a dud, sad because I really wanted to like this firearm...

I would give the gun another chance. Across the board 40% of all guns come back for warranty work. Small pistols come back at an even higher rate because clearances are tighter and the parts are more fragile. Use 100gr flat nose FMJ ammo. If the little gun will run flat nosed ammo it will run anything. Do not use Winchester white box ammo. Winchester has problems crimping that ammo.

Possibly the ammo? Bersa is generally a fine firearm.
