I just scored my new HD shotgun! Can't wait for it to get here. Anyone own one? Opinions?
I've got one, I love it. It takes down easy and shoots great.

If you go to the Benelli website, they have extra barrels (slug & "field" barrels - 24-26")

If you strip, clean and lube it well, it's pretty smooth.

It also comes with a plug in the magazine to limit it to 2+1. It's pretty easy remove the plug (if you want to) ... there are videos on the Benelli site as well as YouTube.

I own a Benelli Nova tactical and it is a very well made shotgun. The kick from the 12ga is rough, but Benelli makes a mercury filled recoil tube you can install in the stock. I personally keep the Mossberg 500 pistol grip for home defense, but the Benelli is definitely my favorite of the two.

I have the Nova and I opted for the recoil reducer which makes the weapon much heavier but you can run shells thru it all day long without a sore shoulder. Plus if you had to whack someone in the head or whatever it would definitely help to leave a mark. :)

I dont own one, but i think they are made in China, or Italy, or some place like that. I hope they shoot better than they look, function over form kind of thing maybe...?

Italy...and yea they have a "space aged" look to them, but it's grown on me mainly because they are a fine weapon!

The Benelli does ok, a couple guys run them on trap night. The only issues i see with them are. Shell stop problems, sometimes they will try to load 2 shells at once. You have got to keep them clean for them to function properly. The action pops open easily, so you need to hold the forearm forward when firing, especially with heavy loads. And they can be a little fussy about what they want to eat.
