I was at a gun show today, and bought a Benelli special 80 automatic shotgun. I purchased the gun for $370. It is in near mint condition. I think i may have gotten a steal on this one. Please post if you know a good price range for this gun.

Did you get the trap or the skeet? Is it HK marked?

The blue book lists the model 80 special skeet trap in 100% condition for $465.00

    SL 121v at 100% 395.00

    SL 123v at 100% $420.00

Benelli semi-auto 3rd generation (inertia recoil) shotguns were imported starting in the late 1960s..... The SL80s are much lower priced than current production Benellis. Since the late 1980s, the Benelli SL-80 series marketplace has dropped sharply, and relatively few guns have been traded during the new millennium. In the past five years, there have been an increasing number of SL-80 guns for sale which have had unresolved mechanical problems. Parts are scarce and high priced. Wood for most models are no longer available. Buyers would be well-advised to be cautious when considering buying a used SL-80 series Benelli.
100% values within this section assume NIB condition. Information copied from the Blue Book of Gun Values 26th. ed.

The Value of these guns like everything else has gone up considerably. The last post is quite dated being almost 5 yrs old.
Going range now is $495-$750 in general depending on model/condition.

They are well made, rugged, smooth reliable shooters.
The SL80 and SBlack Eagle are very similar in design and extremely easy to break down for cleaning. Even the bolt assembly can be completely stripped in a minute or so without tools.

    Wish I still had mine!!
Best swinging duck/dove gun Ive had. Recoil was nothing with 3" inch shells pleasant contrast to my pumps, it is Inertia driven gun.
I Gave it to my son! He owes me and how..
