I'm a stodgy old fart but sometimes I feel the need to be a tacticool fella. I hung a Streamlight TLR-2 on my XD .45 Compact and it's now my living room gun. I may be getting ill as I was seriously considering a railed 1911 while browsing my LGS on Sunday...

The pic didn't load for me but I know what it looks like. I personally am not a fan of rail mounted goodies on a pistol but that is just me. Nothing wrong with what you've got there. Now if you're wearing a crossdraw vest with 7 mags loaded with NINJA ammo I'd start to worry.

This. Especially on a home-defense gun, which might be used when things go bump in the night, having both a light and a firm grip is a sound idea.

I love tacticool stuff, just as long as you have a purpose for it. A tac light on a HD gun, definitely a great idea. Now if you go out and buy a LBV and start stuffing socks in the pouches then you're creeping up on Mall Ninja....lol just kiddin'

    Great looking gun

What you have there is a good looking, practical accessory to your firearm. Nothing wrog with that at all.

Only recommended for all Poly guns w/o a steel frame or slide.

As being an everyday homeowner, um...IR lenses aren't really in my price range and a flash light is a little better than flippin' on the ol' light switch. LE uses flashlights everyday in the process of clearing buildings. If it's pitch black, it's pitch black and without NV you pretty much don't have any other options.

    Not gonna argue

Depends on the user. If you dont like rails, dont use 'em. A "melted" Kimber with no snag sights may be your thing, but there are a hell of a lot of great shooters that train and CCW with railed guns. Pros and cons.
Me? No rails on my 1911 that I CCW. My "house" handgun? - XD 45 with a TLR light. House shotgun is 870 with a Surefire forend. I like having both hands firmly planted on the gun when I am under stress and pooping twinkies. And a white light is a must with other family members in the house, probably a must even if you dont have people living with you.
    My 2 cents.

I just bought a light for my Tupperware because it's a Hell of a lot more convenient that trying to hold a damned Maglight. And No, neither of them are Armycool. Just plain old white.
