I'm seriously considering doing an instructional thread on how to bed centerfire rifles. It was requested. I'm wondering how much interest there would be in my doing 1 complete with pics? What say yall? I hope to make it sticky worthy.

I think if you can show a factory rifle and the benefits of a good bed job with clear pictures, it would INVALUABLE to someone who has no idea what we are talking about and would DEFINITELY be a good sticky in the long gun section.

Many people don't grasp the concept, but once shown, it makes all the sense in the world to them.

We all know it's worth doing on any long gun in our safe if we are serious, but this would an ideal way to show those that are new, or not yet up on all the lingo, what a glass bed job is, how it is done, why it is done and the benefits of it.

    Please proceed 'Bear!!

I would be interested. I know what bedding is but I've never done it and while my Mossberg never fails to bring home game I'm always interested in making it more accurate.

I also think it's fun to show up guys at the range with a cheapy rifle when they're shooting one that cost 3 times more. Then again, some guys just can't shoot.

    Stalkingbear!

Always interested in the "Master's Technique" my friend. No matter what you know one should never stop wanting to learn more! If they ever do it is at their loss! Looking forward to the information myself. And I am sure most are!
I think that is a great idea!

I don't claim to be a master but I have been doing it a long time. Since I don't have anything that ain't already bedded I thought about doing a bedding job on a member's rifle but since I don't have a FFL anymore it would have to go through the hassle of going through FFLs. If a member was closeby (within driving distance) and wanted a free bedding job on their rifle for me to use for photo purposes (before, during, & after) that would be great.

Wish i had one to send. You should auction or raffle off the service of bedding some member's rifle, for charity or beer or whatever.

    Edit* Bear beer, LOL.

Bear, there is a way around the shipping. Shoot me a PM and I will explain.

Also, I think it would be a great instructional thread to a lot of folks out there who are in the quest for more accuracy.

Basically I need a factory stock rifle to bed. I wouldn't charge anything for the bedding/free floating the barrel but if we have to go through FFLs and shipping that would cost dang near as much as the bedding would if I was charging for it.

Ok I think I have a rifle or 2 to do. Now all we have to do is wait for them to send me the rifle/s.
