Grizzly bear kills 72-year-old walker | Mail Online

that is to bad that the bear had to be killed because some 72 year old douche bag went and did something he was told NOT to do. I think his widow should have to pay a $10,000 fine for the destruction of the bear and for her husband being a complete and utter douche bag.

I still see no reason for a bear to draw breath outside a zoo. If it is a law that i must wear a seatbelt & avoid transfats to protect me from my own stupidity/glutony, then there should be a "Bear Protection Act" to eliminate all of the free-range bears on U.S. soil.

Bear shoulda been a rug to begin with. How do they know the hiker was warned? Who told him there was a p1ss'd off bear nearby? Who physically walked up and said he needed to leave. I am thinking no one. Just guessing, but I think they were in 4x4 hauling booty to get away before they were snacked on themselves. There warning was pro'lly a sign posted on a tree several miles in the opposite direction. At least now there is one less bear to worry about.

How about the National Fish and Wildlife Service not releasing Grizzlys where they may come in contact with the human population! These textbook flakes pissed this bear off and it took it out on the first two legged grease spot it found!!

You want to llive in bear country, you have to increase your awareness!

The bear study group owns the responsibility for this one!

I think that guy should of known better........should of not ignored the signs.

Grizzly Bears have the same rights to be on this earth as we do. I for one enjoy seeing wildlife.

Its a shame this bear had to be put down.

you guys crack me up you live where there are no bears or at least grizzly and talk your smack the park service post signs and leave them up. where this guy was walking wasnt some wilderness trail its where there sumer cabin is the park service should have had rangers posted where this bear was coming out its drug induced sleep. the only good thing that came out of this is the bear was is to find and then shot.

Granted I don't live in grizzly country, and I don't really care if the dude was in his back yard. IMO,If you are in an area where the bears are you should be armed, period. If not then shame on ya.

well there ya go. ill be sure to tell the million visitors to Yellowstone park to go home. But that would be a site to see that many people with 870 shot guns all in on place, may be we should rent them at the gate.

I didn't mean rights in the term of like "Bill of Rights" more in the sense that God put them on the earth as well. I dont think its really fair to say that ALL bears should be in the zoo.

    No winners in Bear Country!!!!!

The people that Druged an tagged the bear should have removed the bear to a different locale. When the bear woke up he was pissed, and the old man was in his sights, end of story. They had a radio collar on the bear which made it easy to find and kill. Remember the next time a drug add. uses this as a defence as to killing someone. He was on drugs, This is a no win situation:confused:

    Genesis 1:26 (King James Version)

"26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

If you want the religious angle on it, there it is, IMO. In my opinion, "fair" doesn't have anything to do with the survival & prosper aspect of human existance. I don't feel at all bad for the bears; their time has passed & the age of man is well under way. If & when a stronger species takes over, should we expect mercy in their struggle for survival & control?

Having dominion over the "...fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing..." means we are to manage and oversee the other creatures on the planet, not exterminate them.

Except spiders, all the spiders have to go!! :D

And the snakes. A good snake is a dead snake.
