I'll just add this here. This is a little thread on "Filthy 14".

FYI: Talking with Pat this weekend, Filthy 14 has over 43,000 rounds on it and still shoots 1.5 inch groups at 50 yards. It will be rebuilt.

I've got copies of this in just about every room in the house!!!

Perhaps I order too much from BCM?...

Thanks Roger for the update on Filthy 14. I bought an upper exactly like it, mostly on Pat's testimonial.

I had an opportunity to T&E this weapon a couple of years ago, before it hit 30K rounds. It shot very well, no malfunctions or issues, and it ate everything I fed it over three days in AZ. I showed me three things, one how much an improvement the 14.5 mid gas system is over the carbine gas M4, what a great optic the T1 is, and that Slip 2000 is a great lube.

I thought it was a 14.5 with the perm attached A2X? Guess I gotta re-read the article

    The EAG Tactical carbine/upper offered by BCM has a 14.5 with a permed A2X. Filthy 14 was a 16" with a A2.

I was going to say the same thing.

BTW I have the 14.5 mid and I keep hearing they are "finnicky." I have never had a problem. What's the deal?

They don't run well with low powered ammo or heavier buffers. They still run, but you can get some failures to lockback on an empty mag, etc.

I was at the Gadsden Carbine 2 class, last week. #70 and #77 have 12k and about 9k on them, respectively, and they SMELL. There are other T&E guns for EAG student use, with what lot of folks would erroneously think of as a blasphemous amounts of rounds sent downrange without a single cleaning. Bear in mind, Filthy 14 just happens to be the one with the most.

There were 14 soldiers at the class I just attended. I about dropped a deuce in my shorts laughing at the exclaimations of shock and horror when Pat pulled the BCG out of #70 to show them. Looked like it had wind-drifted dunes of wet, black sand on it....

I just want to say that is crazy. At .25cents a round that is almost $10,000 of ammo.(I'm guessing they did not shoot wolf in this gun) I wish they had taken pics when they cleaned it or when the bolt broke. I'd also love to see what an exstractor looks like after 13k rounds.

No doubt. And think there are other BCMs in his lot w/ similar round counts.

I'm curious how many others could do the same.

I was fortunate enough to be able to order an from BCM today. Order placed at 9am, order shipped at 3pm. Such high quality available at the snap of your fingers. Why would you want to go anywhere else. I shake my head every time I hear guys waiting weeks or even months for less quality at similar or even higher prices.

I'm about an hour from them. I wonder if they have a store right there or even some sort of a tour. I am extremely with my BCM and will continue to buy from them. Great customer service, quality and price. What more could you ask for?

I have heard of 1 instance of BCM not living up to their reputation on the four forums I visit. I'm betting you won't be #2.

+1 BCM. In the course I took last week my BCM ran flawless without any cleaning (~700rds). Others had problems and many had to clean/lube

Everytime i look at uppers for build #2, i somehow always end up back at BCM's website.....hmmmm weird :p. Not knocking other brands but for the value, they are a hard company to beat and they truly make an outstanding product.

That would be great to have BCM within 30 miles. I'd go plead and beg for a part time job, heck even sweep out the place, just to be around. :p

BCM knows how to treat it's customers. I now have BCM swag coming out of my ears. I'm thinking Larue (king of swag) is packaging BCM's stuff for them now ;). And incase you missed it for all the free stuff there's a 16" SS 1:8 upper w/ VTAC 13" rail.

Other than Larue I don't know of anyone who treats their customers as good as BCM has treated me.

    Mags loaded, reservations made!

    Nice score, MJ!

Funny, I was looking through the new "Book of the AR-15" magazine at the newstand today and an article rated Customer Service among 25+ AR makers. They really knocked BCM CS. And what did they base these ratings on? .... Could the author get a manual mailed to him!

While it's nice to get a printed manual if you want it, you'd think they'd have called with something more substantial, complaining of a problem that takes a little gray matter, like FTF or FTE and see if CS is able to quickly get on top of things to solve the problem. What a joke that article was!

    Thanks everyone.

Q a manual for what? Who needs a manual? That's stupid. I had a hat, 5 stickers, 4 cool posters, and another copy of Filthy 14. Oh yeah, and a high quality upper all in one box.

I challenge anyone to find a legitimate bad experience with BCM.

Yeah, the hack just called the AR makers and asked for a manual for the AR-15. That's how he rated CS, no technical questions at all. What a joke! And now we'll see "illuminati" quoting the results as gospel.
