Why would a slow twist in the barrel of a gun make it shoot round balls better than conicals?

Not only twist but length of barrel are important in these calculations.

COMMONLY, it is stated that /48 is the half way point. anything faster is conical, anything slower is round ball.

I have a special Rice barrel, its 1/60 @ 42 inches. I shoot only roundball, and they do go a long ways.
