Anyone knows why Federal and Remington factory 9mm cause more smoke than say Winchester WB? All factory standard 115 gr fired from different compact Glocks.

    There are several factors involved.
Every factory ammo company uses different powders & primers. Some powders produce more smoke than others.
A fully-jacketed bullet will produce less smoke than a bullet that appears fully jacketed but has an exposed lead base (as some do). Exposed lead will produce more smoke than a bullet that is fully jacketed.

That said, anyone knows what primer is in Federal? I’d know to avoid that primer when shopping for indoor ammo. The bullets are all fmj, hard to find lead 9mm ammo on the shelves .

Federal makes primers so I would guess they use their own, not 100% sure though
