Teen banned from US after drunken email to Obama

    September 14, 2010 - 12:12PM

A British teen has been banned from the US for life after a drunken moment of rage.

Luke Angel, 17, admits he sent US President Barrack Obama an abusive email in which he called Mr Obama "a prick".

Luke told the Daily Mail the incident happened after he had too many drinks before sitting down to watch a TV program about the September 11 attacks in 2001. He claims he was so incensed by what he saw that he sent the email to the White House.

The Daily Mail reported that the FBI intercepted the message and contacted British police.

Officers then paid Luke a visit, informing him that he was now banned from the US for life.

"I don't remember exactly what I wrote as I was drunk, but I think I called Barack Obama a prick. It was silly - the sort of thing you do when you're a teenager and have had a few."I don't really care. My parents aren't very happy about it," Luke said.

"The police who came round took my picture and told me I was banned from America forever."

Bedfordshire Police said the teen was banned by the US because he sent "an email to the White House full of abusive and threatening language".

    Luke faces no criminal charges.

I wonder if they would ban me from the US if I emailed Barry and told him what I think. I'd call him more then a prick.

I am surprised I didn't get banned from Kansas after I sent the then Governor Sebelius an email after she had vetoed the conceal carry law.

Well the "office of the President"...

Is worthey of respect, despite the fact if you voted for him or not! I would
not want to have his job in this economy! I would rather have a beer with
him than Jimmy Carter! Two years into his term, our worst fears are "tame"
when compared to the "anti-gunner" republican that opposed him! Mc Cain
was no friend of the 2nd amendment! I would love the chance to enjoy a
beer with a US president! :) (And I might also enjoy a smoke with him even
though I quit cigarettes on april 8 2009)!:)

I got no respict for any social-ist, regardless if it is osamaobama, klinton, reed, palosi, biden, carter. Quite frankly if they all died in a plan crash I would not shed one tear, but would rejoice and have my own beer.

I'm thinking there's more to this story than what is related in the article. If all this kid did was make criticism of the POTUS than I have a huge problem with him being banned. Now if the kid made threats od some kind than not so much of a problem.

    Ladies and gentleman,

Let’s not over react to a media story for several reasons of which the least is not that you can’t believe everything you read in the paper. There is a lot of information missing from this article. If all the young man did was to call the President a “prick” than that is not enough to get him banned for life but if he made more aggressive comments or threats then it is possible. I find the whole article suspect for various reasons. First is that the Secret Service monitors and follows up threats to the president not the FBI. The Secret Service would in conjunction with the local police go talk to the young man to assess the threat level to the President and the article does not say anything about that. Also it is the State Department that would deny him a Visa and that would only be after he applied for it, additionally at 17 he is classified as a juvenile and other rules apply. Yes he can still be kept out of the US but it would take more than a simple email. To me I think this is a sensationalized article about a drunk teen that sent a stupid email and the British police were trying to scare him and told him he was banned. I don’t think he is banned.

Quoted for Truth. If this kid really got banned for only an e-mail and it was only calling the POTUS a prick, I am the new King of Wales.

Most posts here and e-mails from home are done while half lit. I'll have to be sure not to e-mail the prez in the evening.

I would like to see the entire email that was sent' however, we know that will never happen. This email had to be threatening in nature and not just the word "P---K"!

Reading the article to be banned, DHS indicated 60 reasons to be banned!

From the Sun paper in the UK:

Obama rant Brit banned from US for life | The Sun |News

Officers will take no criminal action.

Joanne Ferreira, of the US Department of Homeland Security, said there are about 60 reasons a person can be barred.

    She added: "We are prohibited
