Anyone know of a dealer, preferable with a website, that has any Colt 1911s available. Ive been spending hours online. The only models I routinely find are the New Agents and LWT CMDRs or Wileys. Im looking for a government model with the upswept beaver tail and ambi safety (lefty). Im really looking for a Rail Gun (any of the three is cool).

I might consider an XSE or Combat Elite. Of the non-rails, would you consider the Combat Elite the best choice because they have the Nation Match barrels?

    Thanks for the help.

Check out Bud's Guns @ http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php I bought an AK47 from them and they are awesome. Good prices and great customer service. If they don't have what your looking for sign up for the Buds VIP and you'll have first crack at the gun when it comes available. And no I don't work for them I just had a great experience with them. Good luck in your search.

WOW both of those look great. For me this would be a hard decision. As bad as I would like to own a Colt .... and with out finger banging them to help decide.... Id pick the Les Baer.

Either would be a good choice.

Me? I have a personal distaste for the Series-80 styled 1911 (even though I own a couple).

The LB is a better fit gun. I love my Colts but LBs are great guns.

Go over to gunbroker.com, enter search for "rail gun". In addition to the 22s, there are several Colt 45s up on auction right now- used and new.

+1 on both counts (but don't own one) :)
Don't like the rail either but have come to accept the idea of them for others in todays market demand (hope i stated that right)

Save up for a Dan Wesson Specialist! No MIM parts, greatly fitted, load of features, match barrel etc.

I'd choose the Baer over the Colt every time. Not to take away from the Colt, but mass production vs semi-custom is an easy choice for me.

So, spending $200 dollars more for the Les is better even though it does not have a rail? Hmm, I will say at those prices, the Colt is at its max msrp and $100-150 over its average cost. The Les's msrp is around $1900, so $400 under msrp, and still $200 under retail. Even though it costs more, the Les is probably a better deal.

Now I just need Canebreak to come out and say to avoid the Colt and go with the Baer.

I don't know the reason, but about all I've seen locally or on line lately has been the New Agent. Maybe Colt just runs one model at a time & it happens to be it's turn, or maybe these are hanging around because they don't sell as well as other models.

I've had my eyes open for 3 Colt 1911s plus the new Mustang & haven't found any of them. Sadly, I've come across a couple other pistols, so spent my $$$. If the Colts were to show up now, I'd have to be begging the money off my wife & she charges horrible interest!:(
