I went to my gun clubs range today and shot this target at 150 yards with my mini 14 223 cal. i was in the prone position. I am usually more accurate but it was very windy today and it is an outdoor range. wind was blowing 25-30 mph.
This was done with metal sights.

I thought the Mini-14 was supposed to be inaccurate:D. That is some fine accuracy at 150yds with open sights!!!!! Have you ever tried it scoped???

Unless that target is 10 feet wide, that's some great shooting with open sights! You make the mini-14 shooters proud!

No,If it is an early 180-181 prefix Mini 14,that's how they came from the factory. Birch stock and upper handguard.
I had one of the first year Mini 14's for close to 30years before I got offered to much for it and sold it.

    Awesome.
I like the light color of it.
Although, if I do get a Mini, it'll probably be the mini 30... hmmmmm Decisions

Evidently,He's a very good shooter in 25-30 mph winds with this weapon.

I've seen people do some amazing things in the past,so I wouldn't say he didn't do it.
A friend of mine shot a 5/8" group with a Milsurp 6.5 x 55 Swede rifle with some handloads and a cheap scope. I watched him do it!
