Just wanted to give a range report on the new AK. It is a Arsenal sgl21 with UTG QD rail. A Vortex Sparc rides on top. I switched the trigger to a Tapco G2. I also added a Hogue grip which I like a lot more than the original. I also can testify that the trigger upgrade was worth the Money. It really cleaned up the trigger pull. The Arsenal circle ten 30rnders ran flawless and so did the gun. This was at 50 yards using the cheap Tula ammo. 5 rounds

Very nice. I have a SGL-31 myself that I'm in the process of adding some accessories on to.

I have a Mako Collapsible stock, UTG 4 Rail Hand Guard, Magpul grip, and UTG quick disconnect side mount on the way :D. I originally thought I was going to keep it vanilla the way it came, but I'm going to do that with my next AK with wooden furniture. Do you plan on adding anything else to yours? Nice scope on top, I have one on the way too but its a ****ty one so I'm not going to mention it lol.

I don't think I'm gonna do anything else to this one. The Tapco trigger and the new grip was my "major" upgrades. I'm very pleased with these two, highly suggested. I really didn't want to pimp it out too much. I've been looking at Bulgarian kits in the 74 style or maybe converting a saiga. Not sure on which route to go. I'd like to have a 74 with wood furniture to cure my newly found AK bug. I may get some unfinished wood and do it myself. There is a video on YouTube where a guy uses a scarlet color rit dye with his poly and it turned out beautiful. Then it's on to the 1911 ( hopefully with next years tax return). Do you find that the Arsenal finish leaves a bit to be desired or are you happy with yours?

The DIY furniture sounds like an interesting project. When I find more time I'm going to have to look into that.

I'm actually looking into a handgun as my next purchase myself. XDm or M&P I think.

The finishing on the Arsenal is my only complaint about the gun. Its not too durable, and it started wearing after the first time out with it. Along the carrier and the rails in the receiver, the metal underneath started to show in spots. I'm not super mad about that. As long as its maintained properly I don't think it will do anything.

Iron Wood Designs has a great product catalog for most AK's if you want nice wood.
