First of all, forgive my ignorance. I'm not an AK guru. I'm lookin for the best bang for the buck value ak, and the best ak available period. I keep hearing about these through searching the Internet. I'm gonna buy something, just wanna make an informed decision. I want one that is built like a tank, and is very reliable, also somewhat more accurate compared to others. Any input? I hear arsenal is hard to beat.

Well arsenals are high end AK's,the arsenal factory buys the imported saiga rifles in their sporting configuration and performs really nice conversions on them to a typical AKM style gun.

I choose to convert my own saiga which is an option if you like to tinker and wouldn't mind saving a few dollars.

But saigas are new manufacture so they and arsenals aren't parts guns like your yugo's and tantals and what not.

But if you want TOP of the line Kalashnikov magic. You'll want to look into Krebs Customs.

Is it bad the Arsenals/Saigas aren't parts guns?
Not at all, that's a check in the PRO column for most AK shoppers. Don't have to worry about any parts already being beat to hell before you get to do it yourself. With parts guns you can't really tell exactly what your gonna get unless you look it over good and shoot it.

With new manufacture saigas and the arsenals there is the same consistency in workmanship you would expect from any other new gun manufacturer. The parts kit guns are like buying used pretty much, thats not necessarily a bad thing though,my pops scored a homerun with his wasr-10.
