I went on amazon to find a book on building my own AR (now that i have my own AR i reeeally wanna try my hand at building one from the ground) up but the reviews on amazon are all of differing opinions can anyone reccomend a good book for a beginner? (my working knowledge of my AR consists of the ability to shoot is, site it in strip and clean it)

I prefer YouTube. Lots of good hands on videos that show you exactly what to do.

check out either Brownell's or MidwayUSA as both have good selections of books related to firearms and the AR specific books on building, modifying and accurizing.

The best books are the Military Training manuals. You can download them for free on many websites. Then just print them off and stick them in a 3-ring binder at Kinkos
SEARCH FOR THESE AND PRINT THEM OUT.
    TM9-1005-319-23&P, ARMORY MANUAL
    TM9-1005-319-10, FIELD MANUAL
    504-FM-23-9, M16 MARKSMANSHIP
    MIL-C-71186, MILITARY SPECIFICATION, M4A1
    MIL-R-63997B, MILITARY SPECIFICATION, M16A2
The Modern Warrior’s Combat Load, TASK FORCE DEVIL (DEVIL CAAT)

I hope you have an extra ink cartridge...lol
