define "longer range"

i had a mueller on my 700P that tracked pretty good out to 300 yards or so, cost around $150 IIRC. but any further than that and i noticed it would give me issues sometimes.

After a lot of looking for the past 2 months i settled on the Nikon p223. I still have yet to find even 1 bad review and for the price can't really be beat. I got mine with the mounts shipped for $189.
I will be doing a report after i get it mounted. Nikon also sells an app to help with the reticle adjustment.

I have a Bushnell banner 6-24x40 I caught on amazon for $99 . They usually sell for $169. Its been a fabulous scope for the money and helped me make a tack driver .223 bolt gun. Now you will have to get used to how the mil-dots work but a little practice and keeping notes the dots will come natural after a while. I do wish it had a side focus but for the money I can live with the front focus. If you have the focus set at 100 and your target is 300 it will appear out of focus until you hit around 300 on the focus etc. This does help in knowing about how far away your target is and will get u pretty close

Where did you find it for $189? All I've seen are 199 or so for just the scope.

I have a membership with direct buy. The scope was actually $139 before tax and shipping. Shhh, don't tell anyone. However if you have a friend with a membership they can order it for you. Just don't tell then i told you.

What height scope rings do you all recommend for an AR? I have a BCM gunfighter mod 3 (large) charging handle. Has anyone used quick detach rings?

I really like my Nikon 4-12x40mm ProStaff, it was just over $200 with free shipping at OpticsPlanet. The scope is mounted to a rail that attaches to the carrying handle and allows use of the factory sights. The scope, rings and rail detach by removing the rail from the carrying handle (just loosen one knob).

Nice rig, rainmaker. And I know you know how to use it!

I don't use a riser. The weld point is a bit lower than my cheek; more like my lower jaw. However, it is not causing any problems.
