AR online order

Hello all,

I ordered an AR from Buds, and it just got to my LGS yesterday to take care of the FFL transfer. They advise to inspect the firearm before I accept the transfer, and I was wondering, since this is my first AR purchase (actually my first firearm purchase, period), if you all had advice what to look at or look for before I accept the gun.

Just make sure it's not damaged and run the bolt back a few times, dry fire it, make sure the magazine is not damaged, just visually inspect it. I have bought from Bud's before, without any problems.
You are supposed to inspect all guns before accepting them. If you find anything wrong with the gun, you can decline the gun. The gun goes back to where you purchased it.

I would have thought your LGS would have inspected it visually before signing for it . I believe once its signed for you have accepted it .

When we receive a FFL transfer at my LGS where I work, we wait to open it up until the customer is there to see it, that way we cannot be blamed for and dings/dents/scratches etc.

They don't inspect for you. They only look for serial #s to be logged into their book. Most importantly, LGS only care for the transfer fee you are paying. :)
Wow , I dont have a FFL but when I receive a upper or something of importance / High Dollar like that, I will not sign for it until I open it up and give it quick once over then he can be on his way . You will understand why when you have to deal with UPS or Fed Ex about a high dollar claim . I have had to deal with both on claims and UPS is pretty decent and pays quickly Fed Ex on the other hand took 5 month and 3 days to get my $758 from them on a insured product I shipped out , They claimed the packaging was at fault and it was not packaged correctly . How much more secure can a item be when put in a plastic bag and 6-7" thick spray foam was put around the whole thing inside the box ? I mean when the box got to the destination it had the corner of the box and foam ripped out of that section of the box like it had been hit with a fork lift yet it was my fault ???? It took a letter from my lawyer to get my $$$ back , Never again will I ship Fed Ex and I always request that USPS or UPS be used for shipments to me even if it costs a few extra $$$
