I'm a new kid on the block (an old new kid). I recently bought a
Armalite AR 7. I replaced the action springs and action guide. All
other parts appears to be ok. The problelm is that after the first shot,
it will not cycle another round in the chamber for firing. I've tried four
different types of .22 ammo, one being CCI mini mags, which should
be enough to cycle it. I would appreciate any ideas as to the probable
cause and fix.

Thanks

Can you give a better description of how it "isn't working"? Is the fired case staying in the chamber? Does it extract and eject by hand power? Etc...

New, Used? I am assuming it is used. All .22 rimfires have a propensity to get dirty, quickly. The nature of the ammo design. In my experience, most problems are solved with a good thorough deep cleaning and proper lubrication. Dental pics are your best friend. Scraping out the crud from the crevasses will help.

AR-7 Will not cycle a round

Make sure it is clean

Mine and most others who have one find the AR-7 seems to like CCI Mini Mags.

The problem may be the famous "sharp ledge" at the feed. You can find several references on line about how to chamfer the feed to a 45 degree angle to ease feeding.

If nothing else, the chamfering seems to be the cure - but one has to be very careful and conservative when doing it or it will throw off the accuracy.

I would suspect yours is a Charter Arms version.

Good luck!
