I have been contemplating buying a pistol scope in a 1-4 for a bit of longer eye relief for a rifle I plan on doing 3 gun with but 10"-24" eye relief is just a tad too much so I found this . Its made more for a bigger bore rifle so it should more than handle the slamming of the bolt back and forth . I found a real good deal on a site for around $179
I just want to make sure I buy a quality scope for this rig , I dont want some China Junk . I dont want a big power scope , I want light weight and I think this should be perfect out to 250 , I want fine cross hairs no BDC reticles

Any Thoughts on my choice ?

Heres the details

You consider getting something with an illuminated dot or crosshairs? Might shave a little time off being able to find your sight picture a little faster........

Tikki
I am finding that I am having trouble with red colors. I'm not color blind I can see every color in the spectrum . But reds are just not great for me and yes I have 20/20 vision. I thought the heavier cross hairs would help with the sight picture. I looked at a couple different 2-7x32 today and I really like the trophy xlt and the 2-7 banner the xlt had a weird reticle that I liked.

Finally got it mounted up and bore sighted, Now to get her out and see how it does :D
The outer part of the reticle seems to look kinda flashy silver and they pic up a alot of light which makes it really easy to see in low light conditions they are very wide which makes it easy to pick up your target with and get it centered , the center of the cross hairs are very fine and those are black . The glass is crystal clear . I have some cheaper scopes that I thought were very clear , well not so much after taking a look thru this one . Very happy with my purchase

What's the eye relief like on that?

I've been toying with the idea of getting this

Actually I think that is a bogus pic I believe the mount is moved closer to the rear sight than in that pic. Regardless maybe a 1/2-3/4" at most. Won't get to shoot it til Saturday and it will be limited to just sighting it in only. U forget I live in the landodarkness right now
Dark when I go to work and dark when I leave :(

Looks good man. After weeks of research, I finally place my order for a vortex pst 1-4 with a Larue mount tonight. My wallet is feeling awfully thin right now.. But I can't wait! Let's us know how that set up runs for you

Good choice. I remember many guys running Simmons Pro-Diamond 1.5-4x scopes for three gun. I finally found a used one that I am trying out. The diamond reticle makes it fast to pick up for the short range/quick shots. I was originall intended as a shotgun scope, so it has generous eye releif as well. So far I like it.

It is a good concept. I like the quality I see in Nikon scopes. I would also like to know how this scope is working out for you.
