Whats a good midrange 100 to 400 yard scope, that doesnt have a huge price tag.
I was thinking a super sniper 10x scope but i want to keep my options open and input would really help me descide

First of all, 400 yds is a looong ways. Something in the 10-24x range would be good for 400 yd. shots. That being said, Wally World has Nikon Pro-Staff 2-7x scopes for $149. Simmons makes some nice scopes for about the same price, one of which is a 4-12 x 40mm. In a hurry to break-in and sight-in my son's new AR-10 while he was back on leave, he bought the Simmons 4-12 scope and we put 200 rds. through it at distances up to 150 yds., It performed beautifully and was VERY bright and well made.

What i have is a ar 15 i just finishied building though, and i figured that a nice 10x would be good for it. I have bench rest rifle that are capable of shooting groups at 1000 yards, but those scopes i shoot with are about 1000 dollars too.
Im just looking for something that doesnt cost that much, its more of a plinking around gun for me
