I just bought my first AR type rifle. It's a POF P-415 upper, with a Stag Arms lower. I have not even fired it yet. I just assembled it. When I pull the charging handle without a mag in the rifle, it slams into position. However, when I pull the charging handle with a mag in, the charging handle does NOT slam back, but rather, just stays extended. Is this normal? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply! So, the charging handle only slams into position when no mag is in place, or does the mag need to have rounds in it? sorry, I'm just curious, as this is my first black rifle.

usually i charge the handle without a mag in place then insert the loaded mag and release the bolt to chamber a round
