Is there anything more American than a 1911? Post your thoughts and ideas here. I think a pretty girl in daisy dukes with apple pie and a 1911 sound like a pretty good afternoon.

Are you trying for ideas on a new tattoo? Because that sounds like it would be awesome!

Are we asking about Chinese, Philipine, Turkish, Argentine, Norwegian, Canadian, or Brazilian 1911's? Oh, or the ones still made in America?

I guess it's got international appeal as well. So, as an American Icon that has gone global, I guess I can see it. Kind of like a Coke can with Arabic on it.

I think a Kentucky or Pennsylvania long rifle Or Hawken is pretty American. The Sharps or as someone else mentioned, the Peacemaker or '94 Winchester, as leverguns really never took off anywhere else.

Leverguns, apple pie, and Ford pick-ups. (I may take some heat for that last one).

I meant original Henreys, and mainly how they were used in the west and against native Americans in taking our country...

That's pretty American since they are part of a huge conglomorate now, with the Freedom Group, or Cerberus. (Holds Remington, Marlin, DPMS, Bushmaster, now.)

Don't you mean taking THEIR country
Come to think on it- Whats more American than a NATIVE American?

And again- The original Henry was never chambered in 30-30---

They were trying to take it from each other...we just put an end to all the bickering.

besides...they took it from the Cro-Magnons.
