Well I am looking at night vision scopes now for Christmas and have absolutely no experience with them. It is a 3x Gen I scope for $399.00.

Good, Bad, or what? How long does the element last, battery is a 123 they say good for 40 hours on battery, not sure of the amplifier battery yet.

    ANY help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jim

I'd pass on a Gen 1 NV,they are pretty poor quality visually.

Gen 1 is strictly a hobby horse. Have to be really turned up to work and it eats batteries.

With gen 1 nv you are looking at Vietnam era technology and nv has came very far sence then you can buy modern nv scopes on todays markits but as you see with the one you are currently looking at nice night vision technology does not come with a cheap tag with gen 1's think of them as a grade above a tonka toy

Nice peace ! I have thought about building a AR-10 more than a few times just timid as to how much money ill dump into it ya know .... Thats the only problem i have with AR's is theres always the next kool thing and it costs an arm and a leg my fav weapon right now in my collection is my savage 10 custum with an accu trigger .. Full floating bull barrel ... Threaded for sniper .... A custom silencer by new age ... And a Leopold mil-dot mk4 ... And a fully agustable sniper butt stock with bipod front
