I like large calibers, although, that doesn't look like too much fun to me. I did enjoy the Rage music as it seemed very fitting.

I doubt any of those people had ever fired a big bore rifle in their lives. Some didn't even shoulder the weapon correctly.

that looks like one beast of a rifle, i bet that short barrel doesn't help it. the only guy who could handle it was the last guy!

its a gunshop in south africa. the store owner is a complete douche as something like the 577 trex can do real damage as in breaking collar bones or worse if not fired with correct form and technique. they let anyone walk in and shoot it then post the vids.

ive been shooting big bore rifles for 2 decades. without proper technique even a 416 can tear ligaments. for a gunstore to allow that to go on just exudes douchness.

here is a sample of proper form

It's a Hannibal rifle made by A-Square, chambered in the 577 Tyrannosaur or .577 T-rex.

Here's a pair of the T-rex on either side of a 308 Winchester.

The .577 Tyrannosaur was developed by A-Square in 1993 for big game hunting in Africa. The cartridge on the right contains a 0.585-inch (14.9 mm) diameter 750-grain (49 g) Monolithic Solid Projectile which when fired moves at 2,460 ft/s (750 m/s) producing 10,180 foot-pounds force (13,800 J) of muzzle energy.

Dang, talk about "GET A GRIP, FOLKS!".

Most of the guys in that video seemed to be rather casual in stance.

Did they even see the bullet prior to shooting, or load the gun themselves?

This does bring to mind that even comparatively smaller calibers can hurt you,

if you don't hold the rifle right.

i was thinking the same thing therewolf.

you just tell me the grain and i would sit down with that monster. i dont think that half of those people knew anything about firearms. and i cant believe that the range would let that go down either.

it was funny though. wish i could see their faces the following morning.:)

The only thing more irresponsible than giving unaware novices that gun, was

    putting them on youtube afterwards.

This is a stunt which has been done to many women over the years, using

other large caliber rifles or magnum shotgun shells. While the guys who did

this probably thought it was funny at the time, what they ignored, or

escaped their notice is they turned many women from curious novices to gun

    haters.

I recently had my girlfriend out to the range with a 22LR after almost a

lifetime of gun hate. Turns out somebody did this to her when she was

younger, creating a fear and hatred of guns which spanned decades.

Now she sees it's not all unpleasantness, and she regrets the years she's

    missed shooting.

Therewolf, I have seen many videos of men handing women big caliber guns with no instruction or warning and snickering while she gets ready to shoot. After she shoots it and falls over or gets hurt they think it's so darn funny. Sometimes I wonder if it's to "keep the little lady in her place". In any case, it's really mean.

    No Thanks

Years ago I fired a H & H 600 nitro express and learned my lesson about large caliber rifles. It had a steel butt plate and I was wearing a tee shirt. I had to comb hair with my left hand for almost a week. It took two weeks for the bruises on my shoulder and face to clear up

IMO, if that's the best practical joke you can play on a woman you've

got a pretty limited mentality. Might even be why Hillary hates guns...

Long story short, after getting my GF shooting bulls-eyes with the 22LR,

she's gone from "Absolutely no guns in the house!" to being very

    tolerant of my hobby.

Be careful. I taught my first wife to shoot and she ended up shooting me in the ass with a 32 when I walked out after an argument.
