After several months of looking for a mid 80's truck i found a 1984 Chevy SWB Silverado today in unbeliveable condition to play with.
All original except the motor which is now a early 90's 305 & replacement wheels- working AC, power windows, tilt wheel & even a AM-FM Cassette :D
Not a dent on it even on both chrome bumpers. Even the bed is mint except for paint wear-No tears in seat & carpet is in great condition-Two pieces of molding missing from back that may be hard to find- Guy was asking $2500 & i really didn't try too hard to talk him down. Should be very ready to repaint by spring easy- Being retired now for 11 months i am very ready to have a project - haven't done one like this for XX years

I've always had a fantasy of building 1940 FORD pick-up with a Chevy big block
and old fashioned (4)-speed GM drive train.!

Just think back to the days of ED ROTH , (Big-Daddy) "RAT FINK" himself.!

Now if you got some mileage on you ,(The Sixties) .! Just picture this "ELECTRIC PEARL LIME
GREEN" version of what Mr. Roth could have done with that truck ? (SIGH)..!:(

As the saying goes , It ain't over till it's over..! ;)
I really do like the way you think HOSS..!;)

Good luck with that high potential self gratification project..! You re-kindle that pick-up fantasy , THANK YOU..! :)

You need to replace that 305 ASAP. A crate 350 won't run you too much, but it's better than that turd 305.

Hossfly, you're welcome to come and visit me anytime. you know that!:D

as much as those wheels look good and cleaned and polished they would look better, a set of those Chevy 5 slot Ralley rims with the factory trim rings and center caps would look fantastic on that truck!

and i remember Ed Roth and some of his cars from years ago. my father use to take my brother and to different car shows many, many years ago and i have seen some of his vehicles. very cool cars! yeah Rat Finks!
