I know how you feel. needed to restock my 357 brass (getting old after 25yrs. of reloading) went looking for brass first and what I did find was used range brass for more than what I paid for new not all that long ago, and new is double of what it use to be. but 357 ammo is no where to be found, I can get 38's, 45's, 9mm and just about anything else, but no 357's....

I've been seriously looking at trading my .45 ACP for a .45 Colt revolver because I can't find .45 ACP anywhere, but .45 Colt (which isn't even that common of a chambering here) seems to be practically falling off the shelves because there's so much.

Add to that the fact that it's easier to retain the brass for reloading with a revolver, easier to cast the bullets for such loads that are used with .45 Colt, and if you want to get silly, the possibilities for reloading for it are damn near limitless...

I use the exact same bullets for my 45colt sa rugers in 45acp they do quite well. I've got a LOT of 45 colt brass, been picking up once fireds at a local range 39$ per 500 same for 9mm and 45acp

It can be tough to find where I live in bulk or at a good price. Usually you can find a box, but it's almost always self defense JHPs that cost upwards of 1.25per round, not exactly plinking budget friendly.

I just don't feel like hunting down all my flung brass, especially since most of my shooting is done in the woods. I've done it once for TWW to help him get started with reloading. With a revolver, that issue just doesn't exist.

There's usually some .357 near me.

    .38 too, usually.

I say just be patient, as hard as that is when you've got a new gun you're itching to shoot. Eventually you'll find some.

3 days 11 sporting goods/gun shops later still no ammo in sight... I have the defense rounds and a box of 38's. But I don't really want to waste the defense rounds on paper

Your best bet is probably to figure out when they get their ammo shipments and try then.

When I can't find it in the LGS I always go here. Shop it a little cuz the shipping prices vary with different distributors.

you have to watch, because some online stores charge extra to ship ammo now
