I will literally change my mind about 4-5 times when I'm looking for a new firearm to add to the collection. As it grows it gets easier, but I am a very indecisive firearm purchaser. So far though I have had very few regrets.

Ex: around December I will start thinking about what I want with my tax return, last year a literally went from deciding on a marlin 30-30 lever action to a Springfield Xdm. Not even in the same league

    Let's cover the basics:
    1. Full size pistol dedicated for the home
    2. Bolt action rifle for long distance/hunting
    3. Semi-auto rifle for medium range
    4. Shotgun for close distance dedicated for home defense
    5. Shotgun for hunting
    6. Pistol dedicated for EDC
    7. Handgun as backup while hunting-larger caliber
    8. .22 Conversion kits or .22 in a handgun and semi-auto rifle
    Buy what you still need:)

I don't need any more firearms, no more! Then I am walking along and boom I got another one. No angst, wife thinks it's just fine, no problem. Then I go buy all the stuff for the new caliber. It's so easy!

When you have nothing it is very easy :) My first was a Glock G22 gen4 - well everybody should have a Glock, right. My next which I will pick up in about two weeks thanks to the OGAM law in NJ is a Kimber Eclipse Custom II - as everybody should have a 1911. The third will be a wheel gun, know nothing about them so that might take some time. The fourth - now it gets hard, have not a clue ;)

I went to one of the lgs in my area last week the guy behind the counter said to me ,"Just yell if anything jumps out at ya.", it took a minutes to look around and I said back ,"No fear everything jumps out at me",.But on that note I've been looking around for a Sig P220 and am now going to end up with a 1911.

Right now trying to decide between a DA .44 Revolver, already have one in SA and another .40 semi auto, already have three in various sized frames.
When you first start what you NEED dictates what you purchase after a while it becomes more about what you WANT.

    Nice list.

One problem. After all that, then what? I'm happiest when I'm thinking about the next one.....

I'm completely an impulse gun buyer. I've got my collection down to quality and have sold off most of the quantity. I'm past the point of need and have completely moved to want. I've got Jagermeisters' list completely covered twice over.

I basically go in to browse about once a week at a few different LGSs and when something catches my eye and is within my new gun budget, it goes home with me.

My problem is I work myself up into believing I need a particular item then get it and am disappointed in some capacity. Then I trade or sell the item for a loss and repeat this cycle. I have some winners right now, things I won't be getting rid of, but I've lost my butt to find these items.

Examples of losers: KelTec PF9, Ruger LCP, Auto Ordnance 1911, Walther PPK/S, Century Galil, Smith .380 Bodyguard, Mossberg 30-30 lever action

Examples of winners: Glock 34, Sig P238, Ruger 22/45, Taurus PT 1911 AR in .38 Super, Remington 870 Wingmaster

Surprise of the year: Russian Makarov

On the fence: Springfield XDM 5.25 9mm

Current wants: KelTec PMR, FN Five Seven

I need to se a therapist!! According to my old lady. Bought 5 guns and 2 safes in the last 11 months. Then I see a friends new gun , or some one on here shows some gun porn, and I'm obsessively on the computer shopping around. She tells me I only have two hands! I tell her I can multitask if needed. Now I need a new revolver, Glock, a 30-06 , 308. I do t know what to get next.

One good thing about firearms is that unless you overpay quite a bit as long as you buy quality and take care of them they will always be worth just as much if not more than you paid. (feel free to use that one on your wives, doesn't always work but hey...can't hurt).
