I recently picked up a full length 2 piece guide rod and a heavier recoil spring for my 1911 to help with some FTF issues I was having. the gun functions way better now, it feeds perfectly and feels a lot more crisp when firing and cycling. However, i have a question. What do those of you with a 2 peice guide rod do to keep it from coming un screwed while fireing? After a mag, mine will be loose and i have to tighten it down with my fingers. I've read of some people shortening the rod so that they can still depress the end cap enough to remove the barrel bushing like normal, and just putting loctite on the threads (essentially making it a 1 piece full length rod) but i'm not sure if that's the best idea. Any other suggestions? Thanks folks!
