Is there any way to salvage anything?

I would think the clothes should be salvageable if it was only water unless it was wool or some other delicate fabric.

That is correct .... and even if it doesn't, tomorrow the sun will rise and the birds will sing. keep your head up and your faith strong. Folks here at FTF are with you :)

if the possessions have only been wet for 10hrs they may be salvagable. Wash them with clean water and detergent, allow to air dry. repeat as necessary and maybe all will not be lost :)

Mold may wash out but sometimes it weakens the fabric and leaves holes. But 10 hours isn't so long, give it a try.

I am so sorry. I know there are many memories there that are lost but I hope insurance will help replace the guns, ammo and other things.

As Dog said, we are here for you.

How are the weapons or ammo ruined??? Ammo now adays can with stand water. I have shot ammo that was in a tackle box full of water. Guns after 10 hours should be able to be cleaned up and the minor parts replaced. The cloths can be washed in a solution that will kill and remove the mold. May not work well on white due to staining. My family and I have had a totally flooded jouse when I was young. Yes we lost some things but not everything and we survived.

Sorry to hear that and I agree with GA, you should be able to oil up the guns and maybe need some minor work to get them going. I once dropped my Charles Daly 1911 in a mud hole (don't ask) and after a cleaning she ran smooth. Still have her today.

Both gas tubes are full of water/ recievers are rusted inside. Plastic furniture is moldy.....didnt know was possible. 4000 steel cased rounds in a foot of water didnt make it. Plus all my reloading powder is ruined.
