I joined the Firearms Talk forum to learn more about the .22 cal pistol the Ruger SR22, the Mossberg 702 Plinkster and the Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun. To become as proficient as I was when I was in the military. I grew up around weapons because of my dad being an active duty Army Officer, my first weapon was a Remington bolt action .22 rifle with a V22 Scope mounted on it. Dad and I would head to the range at Ft. Sill, Ok and go through .22 ammo while used his 45 cal pistol. Dad was a member of the US Army Rifle and Pistol Team in the 1950's. I served as an AZ Air National Guardsman Law Enforcement Specialist, weapons qualified with 38 S & W Combat Masterpiece, M-16 Rifle, M-1 Carbine, Remington 870 12 gauge shot gun and the M-79 grenade launcher. Transferred to the NV Army National Guard qualified with the M-16 and M-1 Rifle w/sniper scope. Joined the USAF in 1975 Security Policeman qualified with the .38 S&W, M-16, M-79 grenade launcher, and M-60 machinegun. Spent 10 yrs as a Security Policeman and 6 yrs as crew chief on the F-16A/B and F-117A aircraft. Honorably discharged.

First of all, thank you and your dad for your service. Welcome to the FTF. Search around, you'll find plenty of useful info. And ask some questions you may get razzed a bit at times but your genuine questions will be addressed and your opinions will be welcomed.
